Three Blessed Priests

If you ask me, a mighty arrogant way to call themselves.
The Church of Three Prophets is built upon, well, the teachings of the Three Great Prophets. That much should be obvious from the name. So who are the Three Blessed Priests? The Church leaders, of course. And perhaps the biggest issue that the Old Church is furious about to this day, seeing such a proclamation as affront against God.   And the similary is not just in name. The roles and responsibilities of the Three Blessed Priests are quite clearly fashioned after their corresponding Prophets. Who can become one, what they are expected to preach upon, even where they live... Everything is made to remind of this connection, of Church's role as heirs and protectors of the Prophets' teachings.

Appointment

Each of Three Blessed Priests is an elected position, held until death. The day one of them dies, messages are sent to announce it and invite each Justicar for the Church Convene in three months', three weeks' and three days' time. It was originally just three weeks, but as the Church grew bigger so did the distances between different localities. And complexity of church politics, which are very much heated these days. Especially since one cannot turn down a Blessed Priest's mantle, a fact that is often used to vote popular candidates into less influential positions.   Each candidate requires a backing of at least three different Justicars, and is then questioned by the Convene on various topics concerning their life and their plans for the Church. Whoever impresses the Convene the least, as judged by present Justicars' votes, is asked to leave the Convene. Then the whole thing repeats over and over again with different questions, until the sole remaining candidate is bestowed with the blessed mantle. The other Blessed Priests have no control over this process, which often takes weeks or even months.

Duties

First Blessed Priest

The First Priest is the de facto leader of the Church of Three Prophets. Elected from among all members of the clergy, he or she resides in the City of God and acts as an ultimate authority on all issues. Only the agreement of two other Blessed Priests can overrule the First Priest's decision. However, it is the matters of supernatural and the world's natural way of life that the First Priest is meant to truly focus on. A candidate for the mantle of First Priest is expected to be a scholar well-versed in knowledge of the past, church rituals and dangers of the sorcerous.

Second Blessed Priest

The Second Prophet was a woman, and so must the Second Priest. She resides in the Ardenian Empire's capital, as taking care of people's worldly needs is best done from around where most of them live. Or, perhaps as importantly, where most of influential nobles live. Talking to whom is no easy business, let me tell you that. Therefore, a candidate for this post is expected to be good at politics and wordplay, while appearing as down-to-earth and generous as possible.

Third Blessed Priest

The Third Prophet was a man, you can see how the rest goes. The Third Priest is more of a travelling one and does not reside anywhere permanently, owing to the Third Prophet's lifetime of uniting various sects across the Ordonia. He is a judge first and foremost, passing decisions on any issues that a local Justiciar deems to reach beyond his authority. Or settling differences between different Justiciars' rullings, which happens a fair bit more often. A candidate is expected to be a good politician and speaker, well-versed in canon law and Church history.
