Guiding Riddles

A beloved pasttime of children, Kimnans and the indecisive.
For most cultures, riddles are just that. A fun way to pass some time and show off your wit, or lack thereof. Kimnans do that too, very often in fact. Young and old alike, riddles appear to be their favourite sport if it can even be called that. No wonder they took the idea one step further, resulting in the concept known as the Guiding Riddles.   Imagine you are contemplating an idea, but cannot decide whether it is a good one or not. Or debating something with a friend of yours, and cannot come to any sort of conclusion. What do you do? Well, try to make a decision first of course. But if you cannot, then you leave it up to fate and go ask someone for a Guiding Riddle. The fact of finding an answer to that riddle becomes an answer to the question itself.

Execution

In its most basic and traditional form, a guiding riddle is simple. You formulate a question which can be answered with "yes" or "no", and ask someone for a riddle. That "someone" is usually a friend or relative, but not always. Should you answer their riddle correctly, the answer to your own question is "yes". Sounds simple enough? Sure, but make no mistake - it is a very important tradition to Kimnans. So much that even strangers would often offer a guiding riddle when asked for one, as doing so is considered to be simply good manners.   Of course, there are other forms of guiding riddles as well. For example, a competitive one. Let us say there are three of you, and each pushes for a different approach. How do you decide which one is correct? You go ask for a guiding riddle, and see who manages to answer it first. A tactic which has surely been abused by many a shrewd men and women in the past, by either arranging for a specific riddle in the past or simply being good at solving riddles.
