"Oh! Hello there, Wayfarer." he winked, "Back to help some more with the boars? Crusty is behaving very nicely today, so I'd love to properly introduce you two... What? What do you mean you are here to meet me? Sure, I guess? I'm still presenting Crusty to you."

Nieren looks like a bat-folk of old age yet in good shape with beautiful shiny fur. He seems to enjoy quite nicely his job at the Tuskfair Ranch, where he takes care of the boars and enjoys cleaning and brushing all the animals, and is specially proud of Crusty, the earthen boar.

Traditionally dressed

Dark short grey fur covers his body, well taken care of. His face shows two black tired eyes and a big pair of ears adorning the sides of his head. A bushy beard and medium length hair are golden, making him younger than the rest of him shows.

You've seen him dressing with white shirts and black pants, adorned with a red sash. White wraps cover the end of his legs, one leading to a missing foot and the other to a dark leather boot. You've seen other townsfolk with similar styles, must be the traditional clothes from the area.

He uses a staff to be able to walk around, never leaving it too far. It is covered with personalized details: drawings, added decorations, carvings, pieces of fabric.

Crusty

He's behaving

"Crusty is my pride. I found him as a piglet and I've been taking care of him since then. He's over protective but has a golden heart. Here, some acorns, it's his favourites." as soon as he drops the acorns on your hands, this big boar —as big as you— does a small trot to reach you and stares expectantly.

You offer him the acorns, presenting them on your hand while keeping it as plain as possible. He nibbles on the acorns surprisingly calmed and careful. When he's done, he licks your face and sits down next to you, pressing his body to your legs and even putting one of his legs on your foot.

"He likes you! I knew you'd go along greatly! Lemme show you how to brush his hair, he loves it when I do it..."

Crusty is an Earthen boars from the Vadese Boars species. He is young and energetic and has puppy-vibes, though he is unaware of his size when playing.

You politely ask about his missing foot

Oh that? I used to be a fisherman and on one stormy night, we had an accident in the boat and I lost it. It doesn't bother anymore, at least most of the time... Decided to change jobs after that.

You ask how and when he ended up in the town

Proudly born and raised in the town! My family has been living in the town for a few generations, and neither me or my kid are in a hurry to leave. It's a pretty place and where we have our home.

You ask how he ended up working in the Tuskfair Ranch

Well, after recovering from my accident, going back to the water didn't feel right, not so quickly at least. I found a post in Oaken Trunk's notice board asking for temporal help. I didn't know anything about animals other than how to fish, but Salemara was very patient and nice with me and I ended up loving the job, so I asked her if there was a possibility of staying around, and here I am, years later still working there!

You ask why he enjoys brushing hair so much

Oh! That's because my daughter enjoyed it a lot! She always came to me and asked me to brush her hair and make her braids, ponytails, buns... Something different every day! I missed it a lot after losing her, but thankfully animals are patient with me and let me braid their hair as well.
