Scandium
Scandium is a light, silvery metallic element occasionally found within rare mineral ores hidden in ancient mountain ranges or deep geological formations. Though relatively uncommon, it is highly valued by artificers and master smiths for the strength and resilience it can add to metal alloys without greatly increasing their weight. When combined with aluminum or other light metals, scandium produces materials that are both strong and remarkably lightweight, making them useful in finely crafted armor, advanced tools, and certain forms of mechanical or arcane equipment. Artificers sometimes incorporate scandium alloys into the frames of flying constructs, experimental sky vessels, or delicate magical devices where strength must be balanced with minimal mass. The metal also resists fatigue and cracking, allowing complex mechanisms to endure repeated motion and magical stress. While not widely known outside scholarly and crafting circles, scandium has earned a quiet reputation as a valuable element for creating strong yet lightweight materials suited to advanced craftsmanship.
