Rhodium
Rhodium is a rare, silvery white metallic element most commonly found in small quantities within platinum bearing mineral deposits. It is one of the most reflective and corrosion resistant metals known, maintaining its bright, mirrorlike surface even when exposed to harsh chemicals, heat, or long periods of time. Because rhodium is extremely difficult to obtain and refine, it is considered one of the more valuable noble metals among scholars and craftsmen. Small amounts are sometimes used to coat other metals, creating surfaces that resist tarnish and maintain a brilliant shine.
In arcane traditions rhodium is often associated with purity, reflection, and the containment of magical forces. Its highly reflective surface makes it useful in enchanted mirrors, magical lenses, and arcane instruments designed to direct or focus light and energy. Some artificers incorporate rhodium plating into delicate magical devices to protect important components from corrosion or magical interference. Though rarely used in large quantities due to its scarcity, rhodium has earned a strong reputation among master craftsmen and enchanters as a metal of clarity, resilience, and enduring brilliance.
