Neodymium
Neodymium is a rare metallic element found within complex mineral ores that often contain several unusual metals bound together. When refined it appears as a pale silvery metal, but its greatest value lies in its remarkable magnetic strength when alloyed or treated through specialized alchemical processes. Artificers prize neodymium for creating exceptionally powerful magnets that can influence metal objects, stabilize rotating mechanisms, or guide the movement of enchanted machinery. These properties make it useful in precision devices such as arcane compasses, levitating mechanisms, and certain types of magical engines that rely on controlled magnetic forces. Some scholars also experiment with neodymium in enchanted constructs, using its magnetic properties to hold moving components together without direct contact. Deposits of neodymium are uncommon and difficult to refine, so it is usually reserved for advanced artificery and complex magical engineering where strong and reliable magnetic forces are required.
