Erbium
Erbium is a rare metallic element typically found within complex mineral ores that contain several unusual metals bound together. When refined it appears as a soft, silvery metal, but its compounds are known for producing distinctive pink or rose colored hues in glass and crystalline materials. Because of this property, artificers and enchanters often incorporate erbium into enchanted lenses, magical crystals, and decorative arcane instruments where both beauty and function are desired. In some magical devices erbium infused materials can influence how light travels through enchanted structures, allowing for more precise focusing of magical illumination or signaling beams. These qualities have made erbium particularly useful in arcane communication arrays and specialized viewing devices used by scholars and observatories. Although it is difficult to isolate and rarely found in large quantities, erbium has gained a quiet reputation among artificers as a valuable element for shaping and refining magical light.
