Moljara
The Prophetic Muse
"Help comes to those who seek it kindly."
They turned to see an older woman seated on a low cushion outide a door with a crescent shaped engravement. Her silver hair flowed down her shoulders catching everybit of sunlight. Her robes were emerald green, embroidered with golden vines, and her eyes, which were a soft amber gold, assessed them without judgement.
Moljara is one of the most complex muses in Tydas: she is a healer, a prophetess, a disguised mystic, and the quiet fulcrum of the reincarnations' destiny.
Moljana is calm, observant, and unnervingly perceptive. Soft-voiced but sharp-witted, she is a teller of truths wrapped in riddles. She’s gentle to the poor but firm with the power, and she’s unafraid to confront pain, guilt, or destiny.
She carries no arrogance for being a Muse of Tydas. She sees herself as a servant of the creators, not a ruler of fate.
The only ones who know she's a muse are the other muses, Liniver, Coridan when he was alive, Sol, and Tarana.
Moljara is the only muse of Tydas whose true identity is deliberately hidden throughout the first part of the saga. While the other four openly hold their roles… Moljara conceals hers.
The reason is that Tydaria is the center of the Elantine bloodline, and the reincarnations are born into its political heart. It’s also because Maltu’s corruption has begun to seep into Tydaria long before anyone realizes it.
Moljara hides her true nature in order to:
- evade Maltu’s influence
- protect the reincarnations
- gently guide Tarana in secret
- manipulate fate without being seen
Physical Description
Special abilities
Her magic is subtle and prophetic, not elemental.
Apparel & Accessories
Moljara alternates between two modes within the Chronicles of Tydas and, as such, has two different appearances:
Muse (General Appearance)
Usually wears robes or dresses made of emerald or teal, with gold vines or lunar runes stitched into them. She also wears heavy, ancient-looking jewelry with circular charms. There is a pendant around her neck that glows faintly when her prophetic visions stir. With this appearance, Moljara is straight, dignified, and quietly commanding.
Old Woman (Disguise)
In her disguise, the Muse of Tydaria wears a hooded cloak, a thicker, simpler cotton or linen dress in dark fabrics, a bright scarf to appear unassuming, and a walking stick. She has an intentional dowdiness to blend into the streets and marketplaces she’s in. With this appearance, she has a slightly haunched stance and a softer gaze that fits the charm she puts on her face. She is a master of playing small.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Moljara was born in Asrail, part of an ancient line of spiritual seers and alchemists. Moljara left her homeland decades later, compelled by visions of a girl of moonlight, a king of sunlight, and a threat rising from Tydaria’s shadows. She followed the visions to Tydaria and remained hidden there.
Failures & Embarrassments
Moljara's younger sister, Nithya, was the one who cursed the LeSable family through Toa. She carries immense guilt for not being there to stop her from affecting the sisters, at least.
She is also the one responsible for sending Tarana on a quest based on a white lie. As such, when Tarana finds out, she distrusts the Muse from that point on until after the final battle.
Social
Family Ties
- Nithya Kareth: Nithya is Moljara's younger sister. They are estranged at the moment since Moljara lives in Tydaria and doesn't exactly approve of Nithya's decisions regarding her spellcraft.
