As we wake, there's a bit of a kerfuffle. The Drow noble Eillyn has been assassinated last night. We hear a knock on our door and Syth, the bearfolk druid, informs us of the assassination and that the King has summoned us. The King said that he has a problem. Luna speaks up ask, "What is your problem?" Professor Fisk shoots Luna a sharp disapproving look that she opened her mouth.

He asks us to solve the mystery of who assassinated Eillyn since we are the only ones he can trust, since we were in our wagon which was under heavy surveillance all night. They suspect she was killed by a poison. We take some time to discuss... since we can't leave until the killer is found anyway.

We accept the contract with the king to do our best finding the killer. We are escorted to where the body is and confirmed to be a magical poison that was added to her wine. Her lips are the wrong color, nearly white, with a foul scent on her breath, her stomach already distended. She also has a small bruise on her temple as she fell. We are able to determine the magic is necromantic in nature. She is still wearing her dress from last night. Her organs are also looking terrible.

We are taken to her room which was sealed. In her room is a painting of the ambassador to Toresta, Lady Feclarel. Her room is on the second floor. The bed is made, indicating she died before going to bed. Her body was discovered this morning. We see a box, lid open, with an aura of Evocation, near the bottle of wine. In the box is a bottle with a cork that appears to be a healing potion. Icarus uses Identify on the potion to be a Superior Healing Potion. On the floor is also an ornate wine glass. The wine glass is spilled on the floor but there is still some in the glass. The scent is exactly the same scent on her lips, so this IS the poison. Mickey uses Mage Hand to extract a sample in a vial. Icarus casts Identify on the vial of magical poison, he learns the magic used isn't intended to be a poison, it's simply a side effect, and that it is deadly. It is common for strong wines to be watered down to make them more palatable to drink.

There's no wine bottle, indicating a servant brought her the glass of wine. We need to start asking what servants were on duty as well as who may benefit from her death.

Luna suspects a potion of Blight, or a similar effect. However there are several other necromancy spells which could do this.
