Mickey looks through the keyhole and sees several mechanical constructs. Mickey takes a minute to use Arcane Recovery, Koda uses Magical Cunning, and Icarus repairs O.L.Y.E.
We move the ruffians to the far side opposite the door we're about to open. Luna opens the door revealing 4 Giant Clockwork Rats. She immediately casts Moonbeam dealing 15 radiant damage, killing one of them then transforming to a Lion. Two Clockwork Rats attack Luna but both miss. Mickey runs in and casts Thorn Whip dealing 6 piercing damage, pulling the rat into another causing them to fall prone. Icarus hits one of the prone Clockwork Rats for 1d4 piercing damage killing it. OLYE follows up crushing the other prone Rat for 1d4 force damage, killing it. The last Rat attacks Mickey but misses. Koda runs in, killing the last remaining Rat.
Upon investigating the room we find a body that has been gnawed. On him we find a key with 2 bells on it with the number 237 as well as a familiar Cog motif. The man was also tied up with iron ropes still partially around him. The man at least had one bionic eye.
- In all probability this man looks to be our informant, Silas Vorren, who may have been discovered.
Elle runs into the room and starts looking at the dead body. We open the boxes and find lots of clockwork parts.
We go back to Bronslaw Spytek and contact the city guards to turn in the 3 ruffians associated with the Clockwork Cabal. We also inform the guards of the Clockwork Cabal. We also inform the guards of the location of the body. The captain, not wearing an Iron Veil pin, orders 3 guards wearing Iron Veil insignias to secure the perimeter.
We show Elle the eye, and she immediately identified Silas "Tick" Vorren immediately as a Clockwork Cabal lieutenant. Luna shows her the key which she also identified as being a bank vault key to the 2 Bells bank.
We grab a longboat and head to the Bolthis District with the Two Bells Bank and Elle uses Disguise Self.
Luna and Elle go into the bank so as to not draw suspicion of a large group. The bank teller leads us to the vault and letter leaves us alone.
We open the vault and discover several small gold bars and several stocks as well as a sealed envelope that says "Not to be opened unless the event of my death." Elle shoves the letter in her pocket and her and Luna walk out.
The Disguise Self fades away and our cute Elle returns.
Elle hands the letter to Icarus to read. Icarus reads it quietly and hands it to Mickey to read. Icarus tells Elle that the letter is a written confession, but that it's dangerous. That the Clock Cabal has already killed over. Elle accepts the answer and that when this is over she'll get an exclusive.
The Letter
If you are reading this I have been killed. This is for the city authorities. I believe that the Iron Veil is colluding to take over the city by killing the electors and the candidates for duke. they will use a device made by the Clockwork Cabal. I suspect they plan to use shards they stole from the Depot. They plan to kill thousands. You must stop them.

We head back to long rest since it's already late.
3/26/753 ATC
We go to breakfast and read a broadsheet about a discovered body in the cistern. Proving we can trust Elle with secrets.
Luna sends Pip a message about the happening, the death of Silas, the Clockwork Cabal, and the Leyline Crystals we found, as well as wanting to meet to return the pouch of 3000 gp to him.
Then we head out to the depot where we first got the job for missing crystal. As we approach, one of the gnome approaches us quickly holding a device going wild as she approaches Icarus. She explains it can detect the crystals, even in a pocket dimension. Eliza Gearwrite takes us to a more secure location. Icarus confirms yes, we found several crystals. O.L.Y.E. carries the four to their stand. Eliza lets us know these are experimental EEE rating and they have the destructive capability to destroy a small district.
Eliza handed us two detectors capable of detecting the Ley Crystals within 100ft. We also let her know it was the Clockwork Cabal and their intent to turn it into a bomb.
