Highway Hauntings?

SUBJECT: Highway Hauntings?
Hey, hi. Saw this morning that all the bulletins got deleted; that sucks, sorry. I figured I should repost my question from the other day, since it is gone and I am still having trouble.
So, like I said, I work nights in a gas station. It is pretty remote - nothing but miles of desert nearby. If I turn off the lights I can stand outside and see nothing but stars. Middle of nowhere, Arizona.
I used to like that. It was quiet. I got a lot of time to read. Truckers were about all I'd see most nights, and not many of them. I think we actually got a government deal to be open all night so people don't get stranded and that's the only reason it's open at all.
But recently things have gotten…weird. I'm hearing noises out on the road. Sometimes it's truck sounds, but wrong - like the truck is having trouble and has a weird growl. I go out and there's no truck though, just a smell like old roadkill. Other times, it'll sound like coyotes trying to talk. I think they are trying to say my name, but it's hard to tell. I am not going out there to find out.
People around here think I am going crazy. Imagining things, right? But I don't think I am dreaming or crazy. There is something out there on the highway at night, and it knows my name.
So yeah, that's my story. Anyone know what it is? Or what I can do about it? Any help would help. Thanks.

I cannot be certain, but I fear you have invited demons into your life, poor man. My best advice is to find a godly minister who can guide you away from the darkness and drive these vile things from your door. I do not personally know anyone in Arizona, but I can ask my pastor for a recommendation if you like. I will be praying for you.

DEMONS? This is clearly some sort of EXPERIMENT being run on NC out there in the desert. Probably military, but could be from HIGHER UP. You'll know by looking at WHO'S WATCHING

There's no government program to keep gas stations open all night. If the station is open all night even though it is unprofitable, there must be some kind of reason; combined with the strange phenomena you are reporting, it sounds suspicious to me. Does your gas station have any security cameras? If so, can you get the footage?

I would love to bring my equipment out and record whatever you are witnessing; would that be something we could arrange?

SUBJECT: Last night
so, yeah...last night was bad. It was going along like normal, but around 3am the lights just cut out. I mean, the power shut off. No reason I could tell, but suddenly it was just .. dark. And then I heard something trying to open the door. I had been in the bathroom, so it was locked - but there was something trying to get in. I don't know what it was - too dark. It kept trying, pushing on the door, for hours. There was a bad smell coming in too - mold and rotten food and just ... i don't know what. I couldn't see anythng until the sun rose and then there wasn't anything there but a puddle outside the door. The power came back when the sun came up too. I didn't know what to do and went home and I'm trying to sleep and I can't get that smell out of my nose and I'm freaking out and I need to do something to keep that thing out. I can't go back there tonite and I can't afford to skip work - I dont know what I'm going to do.

I am praying for you NiteClerk. Please, for your sake, don't go to that place tonight. Find a church instead.

I wish we knew more about what might be doing this - I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of concrete advice. If you can, try not to go to work. If you have to, make sure to keep the door locked as much as possible, and bring a flashlight - but I wouldn't suggest shining it out at whatever might be lurking outside. Your best resource might be your local library - look for anything in the local history or regional folklore that matches what you are seeing; it may describe some way to counteract it.

Your best resource will be a FULLY LOADED SHOTGUN

ok. I'll try and hit the library before work - maybe there's something there that might help.
and I'll bring a shotgun too. My dad has one I can borrow.

NiteClerk, are you ok? I'm not sure it's demon, but it could be either a skinwalker or the ghost of a trucker killed in a crash. Please let us know if you're all right, if you can.

I tried a simple divination to determine if NiteClerk is ok...and while I can't be certain, the results weren't very positive. I'm afraid that he has passed beyond this life, or worse.

Grimalkin, please let me know if you get any more feelings or visions or whatever. Given the general location, I'm not quite as worried about government as I am about skinwalkers, Navajo ghosts, and the like. There's a lot of scary shit out there in the Sonoran desert.

Creepy as hell! I love it!
Thanks! I actually notified by accident:D I have more posts planned for this thread.
As a BBS guy in the 90's, this is also hitting my nostalgia button. HARD. THis is great!
Yay! Good to know I'm getting the feel right, then. :)
Sage solomonjack, same here! My ex and I hosted a bbs on a PS2, then on a PS3, and then on whatever came next. Oh, how I remember the excitement when first the 9600 modem came out, and then the 2.8!
