Hi, I'm Grimalkin, and I'm a Priestess

SUBJECT: Hi, I'm Grimalkin, and I'm a Priestess
I had a version of this up before ate most of the board, and given the kinds of issues people have been having recently (fairies, vampires, ancient goddesses, etc), it seems like a good time to recreate it, so that people have a better idea of what I can help with, and where my expertise lies.
I am a priestess of an eclectic Wiccan circle. Not a High Priestess - that means something very specific in *British Traditional Witchcraft*, and that's not the exact tradition I practice. I also own and operate a small New Age/Witch store - it's about half books, a third witch supplies, and the remainder is trinkets that appeal to the casual visitor but don't really have any place in Wicca. I'm one of three priestesses in my circle (which is not a coven - that also means something specific that my group isn't), and we lead the group jointly.
My particular expertise is in magic - specifically ritual magic connected to a variety of goddesses. I have a MA in folklore, with a particular focus on Celtic folklore, and I try to be well-informed on the mythology and folklore of many cultures. And yes, I know I haven't finished the Practical Magic lore bulletin yet; I will soon.
My role as priestess is to help other members of the Circle develop their spiritual gifts - gifts which have begun to blossom at a remarkable rate in the last six months. These can be innate gifts - I have a woman who has started having prophetic dreams in my circle, and another who has developed some rudimentary telekinesis - and they can also be gifts in spellcasting. I coordinate rituals for the Circle, both those intended for a practical magical effect (such as calling down a blessing of health upon our community) or those with primarily ceremonial purposes (such as honoring the goddesses at the appropriate times through the year). I see my primary purpose to be helping others learn the hows and whys of magic, and keeping them from the many pitfalls that can occur to the novice practitioner.
What all that means for the board is that I'm here to help answer questions about what you are experiencing. I think we have all seen that the world is changing; FringeDr and Horatio have a whole Magic lore bulletin about what they've observed, and I've been watching Night-1 and FringeDr compare notes over in Warnings/Cautions with great interest. I know that this can be very scary for people, and I want to be there to help you navigate the magical landscape that is emerging.
I think that's about it for now. If you have any questions about magic, me, or anything else, just ask - I'll do my best to answer them.

i think i want to learn to be a witch; my best friend is really awesome at killing vampires and i want to be able to help her more and i think magic would help with that - can you teach me?
Here kitty, kitty....
Grimalkin probably didn't laugh at that - but I did. :)
