Slipspace Bomb

A weapon used to create Spatial Rifts. These are used by the Dark Star Pirates to keep intruders away from their homes.

Most other factions do not have this technology. Using it is seen as a very bad war crime.

These will create a rift that is several thousand lightyears in length, but it is not known how large exactly it will be or what direction it will take. Weapons like these were also used in the Rih'kiel calamity. As such, the Hyperion Federation knows the true damage of Slipspace Bombs. Using them could very well ignite another calamity in the HF.

So there you have it, the most powerful weapon that the HF has access to. However, the slipspace bomb techprint is one of the most heavily classified techprints they have, mostly because of their sheer power. They have been banned by the Hyperion Ethics Committee, especially since using just one Slipspace Bomb could cause a massive news outbreak which could in turn cause a civil war similar to the Rih'kiel calamity.

Although models used to describe Slipspace Bombs imply that it should create a gap in the THF universe's "membrane", allowing souls entry, this is not the case and any matter that enters is simply warped out of the world.

Access & Availability

These are quite expensive for the Dark Star Pirates to manufacture. Other factions could do it more easily, but very few have the technology. The only factions in Arcturus that do are the Dark Star Pirates and Hyperion Federation.
