Bioweavers

A type of purposed organism designed to assist Harki with their unique bioengineering abilities.

Bioweavers are large but microscopic, single cellular organisms which are initially injected into the harkas who is meant to alter the creature in question. They will spend a short time creating copies of the genome which is to be applied to the creature, implanting that genome within itself. After growing for a short time, the bioweavers become ready for movement into the target creature and release a chemical that lets the harkas host know.

After being moved to the targets body they will move through the bloodstream and constantly create copies of the desired genome. Bioweavers will also create a type of virus which applies the genome to as many cells as possible, but the virus is safe and becomes completely inert after the change.

By making use of other types of purposed organisms, they can also be used to ensure the desired genome will have the correct effect through testing. These will simulate the growth patterns after injection and accurately depict the ending anatomy.

Bioweavers are allowed to reproduce through mitosis as long as the target host is still undergoing it's metamorphosis. This allows it to spread through the entire hosts body, even if this creature is very large (e.g. bioships). It is essentially vital to repurpose any creature larger than another harkas. This makes them very important to harkas society.
