Advanced Trade Workers Union
The Advanced Trade Workers Union (ATWU) is a a guild of specialised workers that functions within The City.
Though it has held a variety of forms and names, ATWU has existed within The City for centuries, serving to provide support, unification, education, and bargaining power for those with specialised and advanced skillsets. These have historically covered a wide range of sectors and industries, but can most succinctly be described as science and technology.
These workers were distributed across a variety of fields, and historically fell under one or many of several jurisdictions in regards to the ministries of The Forum. In 3512 PL, ATWU, other guilds and organisations, and several key influential individuals successfully campaigned to have a new ministry established to represent and preside over the more scientific and advanced industries and infrastructure of The City.
This ultimately took the form of the majority of ATWU's structure and personnel being transferred to the newly established Ministry of Innovation and Invention.
ATWU persisted after the creation of the ministry, but in a significantly diminished form. Smaller in size, influence, and importance, the guild is ostensibly tasked with ensuring that the ministry that they created and largely comprise remains faithful to their interests.
The current leaders of the Advanced Trade Workers Union are Gasket "Gaz" & Valve "Val" Thundernail; notably the twin grandnephew and niece of the current Minister of Innovation and Invention, Crank Thundernail.
