Resonifiers
Resonifiers are used mainly by beginners to help focus their Symphonic abilities when casting a spell or creating an object. The instruments are very common across Arcathia, because they are relatively easy to make, as well as being super popular. A Resonifier is shaped like a round oval, with a small and narrow neck like that of a whistle. On the neck, there are two large openings that lead to two separate chambers located inside the instrument. On the opposite side of the input, there is an exit tube which the sound comes out of, as well as the air that the Harmoniser blows in. The instrument acts like any other wind instrument - by altering the pressure of the air, and where it has to go can drastically change the overall sound.
In addition, and on the outside of the Resonifier, there are many little holes that are accessible to the fingers of the person holding the tool. These holes can be covered and uncovered to further improve customizability of the noise produced. There are multiple holes on both of the inner chambers, which allows the Harmoniser to either increase or decrease the amount of air going in and out of the different chambers.
Inside the oval shaped body of the tool, the two chambers allow for the sound coming from the player, to "resonate". The chambers can be interacted with separately or at the same time, depending on what sound the Harmoniser wants to create. There is a main "bass" chamber inside the instrument that resonates the imputed sound, and making it much deeper. The other, second chamber is a different shape and squeezes the air through narrow tubes to raise the pitch and make it higher. The combination of both these chambers can alter and shape the sound into being the right thing that the Harmoniser wants
On the mouth piece, as stated earlier, there are two slits. Each slit can be covered, or uncovered by the tongue of the Harmoniser playing the instrument, to channel different amounts of air into different portions, and once again, change the outputted sound. By covering just the hole for the bass chamber, the sound and tune that is played becomes much higher in pitch. On the other hand, covering the slit that leads to the high chamber makes the noise deeper, and more impactful.
Surprisingly, Resonifiers are amazingly portable, and are able to be played from basically anywhere (except space, because there is no sound in space anyway). The most common method of transportation for the instruments is either in a dedicated pouch on either the belt or leg, or just tied around the neck with a cord. Lots of beginning Harmonisers prefer to carry the instrument in the specifically designed pouch on their belts, simply because it's more comfortable, and their belts is where all their other gear is stored.
Everyone studying the Symphonic Arts will customize their Resonifier and carrying pouch to match their personal desires or interests. Some people paint patterns and designs on both, others use protective tunal symbols that help to keep the instrument safe from damage.
