Ostrixes
What is an Ostrix?
An Ostrix is a specialised instrument given to more advanced Harmonisers, simply because these instruments are quite hard to learn and in extent require tremendous concentration and focus that one can only achieve whilst being a powerful Harmoniser. The Ostrix is like any other Symphonic Instruments, and allows the user to boost, control or tune their Symphonic abilities, which can help the Harmoniser to win a battle, or safely manipulate their surroundings. However, unlike the more common instruments, the Ostrix is very unique and has a certain function that only it can do.
When being used, and Ostrix will float next to the Harmoniser, which allows the instrument to be in contact with more of the Song in addition to more of the Weave. Because of this, the Harmoniser can choose where the crystal floats, but the most popular spot is over one shoulder and slightly protected from enemy fire.
What does an Ostrix look like?
An Ostrix looks like a small crystal that is often a pale shade of a colour, so a very light blue, or purple, and perhaps white. The colour often reflects upon the users characteristics and how they behaved when the crystal bound to the Harmoniser, in a process that takes a few days and is only embarked upon by once again, the masters of the craft. Sometimes the Ostrix can be paired with the surrounding crystals that grew whilst it was being developed and if that is the case then the Harmoniser who uses the paired Ostrix can either feel boosted or start to succumb to the power of the instrument. if an Ostrix does have smaller siblings, then these will bob and float gently around the main crystal when the instrument is being used.
Quite often and when the Ostrix is floating around the Harmoniser, a faint glowing light can be seen emitting from the crystal and oftentimes fades when the instrument is not being used or the user is out of tune with the Song. This leads Harmonisers to speculate more about the Ostrix crystal and about how it works which is quite a popular topic among learning Harmonisers. In addition, the glowing light that is emitted can sometimes be bright enough to see at night, which leads many advanced Harmonisers using their Ostrix to see instead to casting a spell to create light. However, to create enough light to see by, the crystal has to be tuned into the Harmoniser's inner frequency and thus allowing the crystal to become part of the user and in extent, if the Harmoniser was feeling sad the crystal would not glow as much.
How do Ostrixes function?
The Ostrixes function in quite a strange manor since they are very unique and do not appear to be an instrument like any other
