Soyuskin
Soyuskin (Union Goo) is an extremely effective, binding agent developed in the Republic of Istengrav and sold across Civilized Space. A composite used primarily in industrial welding, Soyuskin is a common component in the construction of starship hulls, as its one of the more effective means of welding Crystaliron components together. It can be utilized on more advanced superdense materials, and indeed is one of the few materials capable of doing so, but is less effective than the nanotech based welding techniques that can be utilized by higher-tech society.

Physical & Chemical Properties
Soyuskin has a similar melting and boiling point as crystaliron ensuring that it is worked with in similar environments. In the natural process of creation, it is produced as a solid for storage before being worked. When worked it is typically heated up to its melting point. During this process, it transitions from a solid to a liquid, at which point the liquid Soyuskin is used to bind together whatever components need to be bound. As the Soyuskin cools it forms a strong glass state. It has relatively strong anti-entropic properties, but is not as resilient crystaliron or other superdense materials.
History & Usage
History
Soyuskin was first developed in the wake of the The Great Cataclysm. As Jumpspace became much more unstable, those who wanted to traverse the void needed to reinforce the hulls of their ships. Under the direction of the nascent Gravan Bureau of Material Sciences a project was developed to create a more resilient binding agent. After a research process of thirty years, the project resulted in the creation of Soyuskin. Since then, the material has become a significant export of the Republic of Istengrav.
Everyday use
Soyuskin is a very effective binding agent. Primarily developed to bind crystaliron components together, it can also be used to weld together other superdense materials, or even more traditional metallic materials. In this role it is remarkably effective, being extremely resilient compared to most lower-tech welding materials and even most from Technology Levels 11-14, it is only with the advent of Bonded Superdense that Soyuskin falls away in terms of material strength and resistance to entropy.
