Grasping Corpse
Effect
With a twist of your hand, you raise a corpse within 60 feet of you up for but a brief moment. Choose one creature within 30 feet of that corpse; the corpse shambles toward the creature and attempts to trip or grapple your target. The corpse does not provoke an attack of opportunity. Make a spell attack roll against your target opposed by their Athletics or Acrobatics skill, success means the target is grappled and held by the corpse for the duration of this spell, or tripped and pulled back or pushed forward 10 feet.
For the duration of this spell, you can use a Bonus Action on your turn command the Corpse to perform this action again, attempting to grapple or shove a creature within range as given above. A creature can attempt to break free from the grapple as normal, this is opposed by your spell attack modifier. The grapple can also be broken by destroying the corpse. The corpse has 20 hit points, and resistance against Physical damage.
When the spell ends, the corpse falls limp, no longer being puppeted by your magic, any damage done to the corpse remains. A corpse that was destroyed by this spell, is not suitable to be used as a material component for any spell requiring a corpse.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the corpse gains an additional 20 hit points or you move the target an additional 5 feet for each slot above 1st level.
Material Component: An Onyx gemstone of at least 15ct. Corpse of a tiny or larger creature.
