Elias Valiente (a.k.a. Hellhound)
Elias Valiente, best known as Hellhound, is a mercenary, crime boss, and occasional supervillain. Once a well-known and feared mercenary, who was willing to do just about anything as long as you paid well enough, he has since... mellowed out. Not that you should say as much to his face, of course.
These days, Elias is mostly active as a... well. Something like a crime boss, a gang leader, head of a crime family. He's the founder and leader of the Pack, anyhow, a criminal group led by his (too) many kids.

Special abilities
Elias is Imbued, and has powers over fire... with a twist. He can lace his flames with a variety of toxins, adding onto their inherent danger with a number of side-effects. Burns caused by his powers often heal poorly, and ache more.
Less directly, he can also use his powers to create dense smokescreens or toxic fogs, but doing so requires him to wear masks, or else poison himself, as his immunity to this own powers is limited only to fire.

Personal history
Once in a relationship with Vulpine, Elias took their breakup... poorly. Deciding it was caused by her valuing work as a hero over him (rather than because he was abusive), he turned to supervillain to demand her attention back.
While he didn't succeed in getting Vulpine's attention (at least, not the way he wanted), he did manage to make enough of an impression on those who wanted to hire powerful people. As a mercenary, Elias had all the money he could ever want... but still no Vulpine. He remained fixated, regularly popping back up for a bout of supervillainy.
His fixation, in fact, remained bad to the point of delusion. Despite spending years apart—longer than they had been together, even—Elias continued to envision a future together. When he came across an Imbued kid with promise, he took them on as an apprentice. And when he found a second, he took them in as well—for Vulpine, of course.
And while Vulpine never came back for the kid apprentice, Elias himself got... attached. To both. And to the kid after that. And the one after that. And, oh, how many did he have again? A dozen? Yeah, that seems about right. A totally reasonable number of apprentices to have. And definitely not kids. No, not him. He's a cold heartless mercenary, remember?
Eventually he came to realize that, somewhere along the line, he had stopped caring about Vulpine. He spent so much time looking after his kids, training them and working by their sides, that she had just... faded from his mind. He had moved on, finally. And, with that realization, he decided to actually shift his priorities. He mostly retired from his work as a merc, and rarely appears as a supervillain anymore, focusing on his kids. His kids, who had since grown into (young) adults. Well, he got there eventually, didn't he?

Though it can be difficult to see the good in Elias, he has some things working in his favor. He's determined and steadfast, willing to hold on and push beyond the point of reason. If something catches his interest, he's like a dog with a bone: he never lets go.
When he was young, Elias' main pursuit was that of knowledge, always seeking to satisfy his curiosity. While he lost it for a long while when he chased Vulpine, becoming leader of the Pack has brought his back to his old ways. His endless hunger has once more turned to knowledge, and he especially loves to learn from his kids.
Vices & Personality flaws
Elias has a long history of being greedy and jealous, always wanting what he couldn't have. Money, power, love, it was never enough. He was unafraid of betraying people to better himself, but rarely felt the need to as a mercenary. He was obsessed and fixated to the point of unhealthy (and far past it, really). On top of all that, Elias is highly possessive, even over things that aren't his to start with... including Vulpine.
Since his shift to leader of the Pack, Elias has mellowed out some... but a dark past is not so easily shed. He's still hungry, forever seeking for what he doesn't have but still wants. He can be overbearing towards his kids, yet simultaneously too hands-off and distant. Possessive and overprotective, yet emotionally unavailable.
