The Silverline
The Silverline is the greatest Tolliver mythal. It was created by Taranis Tolliver in a fit of desperation. As the story goes, Taranis was two weeks into his journey to visit his sister, Ingrid, who had moved with her husband to Arcvoire, the City of Questions. The Paper Road, while still widely used at the time, was growing more dangerous by the day, and Taranis in particular was under constant attack by creatures of the forest. During one such attack, Taranis was overcome by his sorcery and the mythal ripped out of him, forming the first route of the Silverline, a direct path between him and Arcvoire. The Silverline continued to grow from there, stretching across the continent within a few weeks.
The Tollivers maintain the Silverline now, as it seems only those of Tolliver blood can control its spread. Taranis's oldest son, Gundhar Tolliver, has been granted dispensation by the Sorcerers' Council to maintain the Silverline and build new stations as necessary.

Utility
The Silverline is used primarily for transport and trade. Gundhar Tolliver, with the assistance of the Artificers' Guild, enchant magic carts that ferry citizens along the Silverline. It is possible to use the road without the assistance of one of the carts, but it is incredibly dangerous as the magic that created the line still remembers the circumstances under which it was first summoned.
Social Impact
Travel between the great cities has been cut down from weeks to mere hours. While the Right of Travel has always been respected for everyone, the Silverline makes it far more feasible for the average person, who no longer has to be away from home for several weeks to journey to another city, but rather can make a day trip out of it.
With the advent of the Silverline and the artificed carts, few people travel the old ways anymore. In the absence of foot travel on the Great Roads, strange magic has begun taking up residence along the old routes. Members of the Wayguard, duty-bound to use the traditional roads, are being attacked by creatures of the forest in greater numbers than ever before.
