Nightingale's Whispers
Nightingale's Whispers is a Alchemical recipes book written in 1862 AF by the Grandmaster Aldus Huxley of the Luminary Order. In its 650 pages the book contains most possibly the most accurate recipes for the creation of advanced Galvanic Engineering components. The melodic frequencies and patterns described for each of the recipes are extremely advanced. Those that read the book cannot believe that a single alchemist could have devised not all of the 56 components at this level, but a single one at this fidelity. The components created using these recipes do not match but far surpass anything else anyone else has ever created in the field of Galvanic Engineering and Alchemy.
Each book is numbered, so it is know that each owner has one of the 37 books that were printed from single plates and annotated by hand. For most Alchemists this book is a legend, for those that know about it, is it one of the most precious artifacts of the modern times, any corporation that has access to an alchemist holding this book has an incredible advantage over any of its rivals.
The Urban Legend
The legend of the book talks about the fact that Aldus was in fact visited by a woman who he called "His Nightingale" that help him experiment and write the book. Others believe that Aldus has worked for decades on these projects and that he hit a hidden breakthrough he wouldn't share with others and that he took the secret to his gave (circa 1868 AF)
The Recipes
The 56 Recipes described in the book allow an expert alchemist to create and collections of transistors that are capable to support the most advanced of encodings and variety of situations. Whilst a normal alchemical bimetal creation has a tuning that lasts 1 to 3 seconds of 2 or 3 harmonics for the most advanced components, these recipes require minutes of tens of harmonics many even inaudible to the Alsian ears. Part of this book is the creation of the components required for someone to even setup the laboratory equipment and conditions required for anyone to have a small chance to complete the alchemical process of creating even the simplest of these recipes.
The tools
The tools described in the book refer to the construction of six workstations. Each workstation appears to be dedicated to a different alchemical process.
The Liquatur
Construction time (ticks): 80 (+2)
An advanced form of a foundry that allows the melding of multiple metals under extreme heat and pressure creating an extremely refined and stable alloy
The Torculum
Construction time (ticks): 80( +3)
A compression chamber that allows the forming and shaping of metals and bimetal and the fusion of metals with liquids and the infusion of gases as coating
The Audium Soni
Construction time (ticks): 120 (+4)
The most advanced frequency harmonizing system in the form of a chamber
The Supermatetum
Construction time (ticks): 150 (+4)
A suspension chamber that allows a newly described process that by using galvanic energy it morphs metals and liquids in super forms like plasma, superfluids etc. It can also be used to shape the structtures internally in conjuction with the Audium Soni. This device and an exhaust or intake tube that seems to have no particular reason to be where it is but it is coated on a pure electrum coating.
The Occulum
Construction time (ticks): 180 (+3)
A system that focuses pulsatic super focused light to engrave shape and structure metals and plates with extreme precision.
The Cryptex
Construction time (ticks): 250 (+5)
An enigmatic machine that it required components created by the devices above in order to be completed. This machine is able to encode qualities and deep instructions into the creations of an Artificer. This device has "port" that is able to accepts a rectangular cuboid - There is not clear explanation of what this does and why or any instructions for how to create one.
Ooo, all those different workstations/machines are fascinating, as it the book itself.
