The Compendium

The Compendium is a collection of messages and lessons that have been interpreted to be the word of Zieliah, the god of Trinitarianism (commonly viewed as the one true god throughout Aurora and Caligo). The priests of Zieliah maintain and add to the Compendium, and although anyone can read it, they are responsible for summarizing its messages for the general public. The principle of Zieliah, in its purest interpretation, is balance and unity. However, this is often misinterpreted in favor of homogeneity.

Document Structure

Clauses

The Compendium is divided into four sections, which are named after and related to each of Zieliah's forms: I. Allam, II. Celi, III. Seraph, and IV. Zieliah. These sections are also in the order of their associated seasons: fall, winter, spring, and summer. As expected, the messages contained in each section directly relates to that form. Allam deals with themes of possibility, choice, innovation, and wisdom. Celi deals with death, disaster, the finite, and an appreciation for life. Seraph deals with creation, growth, regrowth, and recovery. Lastly, Zieliah brings the forms together with lessons of balance, unity, and connectedness.

Legal status

While Trinitarianism is the official religion of both Aurora and Caligo, the Compendium is not legally binding in either nation. Aurora maintains a clear separation of church and state, although Zieliah's teachings often influence notions of morality in the kingdom, including in lawmaking. This influence is even more evident in Caligo, where the priests and followers of Zieliah play a larger role in government, frequently by serving as advisors to the lords.
