Private Security Team
Providing Professional Protection for the Elite
Most areas of the Grand Society maintain adequate law enforcement to keep their residents and visitors safe. Mostly. Especially for the middle classes. The lower classes have little (official) protection and generally group together to handle their own security. The highborn and the wealthy, on the other hand, typically maintain private security teams.
Private security teams range from employed (or bonded) bodyguards, to a trusted retinue of security professionals, to hired elite mercenary groups of varying sizes and capabilities. Generally, the wealthier or more important the person (or family) is, the greater the size of their security team. Rarely, a wealthy individual may have a smaller team, but usually only when they've managed to hide the true size of their wealth or disguised their importance.
