The continent of Amicrata consists of the landmass South of the Frostwall Mountains. The northernmost countries and/or kingdoms in this continent are Abmasard, Velpavaast, and Sultoria .
It extends down to Lado but also includes the islands that make up Pernowa.
Amicrata spans the entire southern central landmass of Rigerion's known world. At its furthest north, next to the Frostwall Mountains, rolling savanna hills and vast plains hide jungle valleys and patches of arid desert. The Dreadheat Waste can also be found in north-western Velpavaast. Further south the savanna gives way to desert and rocky badlands, with civilisation mainly confined to rivers and coastlines, save for a few scattered oases. In the far south of the continent, higher rainfall means the landscape is covered by lush jungles and forests, save for the solitary cluster of mountains known as the Pentwater Peaks.
The northern grasslands are made up largely of a short, thorny, blueish-green prairie grass, kept alive by a series of small creeks that wind between the gentle rolls of the land.
The middle desert is largely an empty expanse of rolling sand dunes, with the valleys hiding oases and dried river beds.
During the planar collision, 3 of the tears between planes opened up in Amicrata. the largest of these being the Worldscar located on the border between Abmasard and Velpavaast. The other two are located on the eastern coast of Vivworax and on the south coast of Lado.
The Dreadheat Waste is home to a truly unique phenomena known as Obsidian Eruptions. This occurs when magma eruptions happen during a very specific set of natural circumstances. The result is jagged pillars of volcanic glass rising like misshapen claws from the desert sands.
The vast desert in the center of the continent sees rain only during the winter months, with the landmasses central location ensuring hot and dry weather for most of the rest of the year. The southern forests see more rain, which paired with the 5 rivers flowing from the Pentwater Peaks create a much more humid environment. The southwestern coast of Corforia also sees frequent monsoon-style rainstorms blown in from the Bluewild.
Animal species unique to this continent include iguanas, kangaroos, dingos, giant boars, hippogriffs, giant weasels, and giant wasps.
Non-native animal species include kangaroos, axe beaks, giant elk, and iguanas.
Plant species unique to this continent include baobab trees, lavender, poison oak, and rice.
Non-native plant species include strawberries and garlic.
Many countries in Amicrata take advantage of the combination of mountains and hot climate to grow rice and this is the only continent that can grow this staple grain.
Amicrata was discovered long before history had started to be recorded. Most scholars agree it is likely nomadic elf and human tribes migrated from the north to settle in those areas. The dragonborn native to Velpavaast claim the area as their ancestral homeland and no evidence exists to put this in doubt.
