True Magic
True magic, sometimes called Pure Magic, is difficult to quantify. Many people misunderstand the fundamental nature of how it works. This is in part because it is a very simple thing that can be encompassed by a lot, because it integrates so neatly with many other forms of Natural Magic, and because it is relatively rare so those commenting on it usually lack the firsthand experience needed to properly comment on what they're talking about.
The Differences
Natural magic can be described as the use of inherent power to affect change. True magic is to borrow from something unknowable for a brief moment.
While natural magic can be amassed and stored and studied, true magic simply happens. It cannot be claimed, or used to take power. It simply is.
Common Misunderstandings
The average person assumes that if they pray long enough, that a moment of true magic will simply happen when they need it, saving the day. Or that if they pray hard enough in one precise moment that everything will work out.
It's also a common assumption that it comes out of nowhere, that whatever is accomplished with the true magic is practically random, albeit always a good thing. That last element is true. True magic use always leads to positive outcomes. It's just that those outcomes aren't always what you anticipated. And they don't happen at random. There is always a cause and effect, even if it's not readily apparent.
It also doesn't only stem from disaster. There are moments where catastrophe is not imminent where true magic is used.
Each experience with using true magic is different and distinct, but each person who is able to do so reports after that they experience a moment of pure clarity.
