The guide is a black and white piece of text that contains information outlining a series of events that lead to significant events.

People have made many entertaining guesses as to who wrote the various testaments.
Nothing could ever be definitively proven, but the obvious presence of so many portals to alternate realities similar to Saudha Samudra and Manidweepa, has led many to postulate that the guides record the alternate histories of those realities.

They say that it is only happenstance that the testaments' predictions occasionally come true. Though, it is more popularly believed - and not unreasonably - that the involved realities' dispositions are close enough that following the episode guides would induce any outcome considered desirable.

Publication Status

Copies of different guides do circulate among certain social groups in Bhulok. Such groups take great pains to restrict knowledge of the episode guides from those not already in the know, so that they may have a definite advantage for some ultimate goal:

• Gain a military edge
• Play the market
• Avoid a tragedy
• Search for lost treasure
• Clearity on contemporary events

Legal status

Using them as a set of instructions, however, is not always a guarantee of success. It may initially appear to contain knowledge of everything, but it can be dangerous to be wholly reliant on them. Besides encouraging tunnel vision on the readers, events can be disrupted by persons, things or technologies that do and do not exist in either reality.
This makes utilizing some testaments a exercise in futility from the very start.
