Tinkerton

Tinkerton is a small city in southwestern Syr. It is the westernmost city of Syr. West of Tinkerton lies what was once the Mark but is little more than unsettle lands now. The city is known to have a rough reputation being on the frontier of the settled lands of Syr.

Demographics

Tinkerton is mostly Humans, and doesn't have a sizable population of any subraces. The majority of the human of Syrian, but there are still plaenty of people from other ethnic groups.

Government

Tinkerton have a Lord Govenor, assigned by the King. The Govenor has full control over the city's resources however the Macaw Mining Guild, is a strong power in the city. They are responsible for most of the ming operation which makes up the largest of the citi'es exports, and as such, the Lord Govenor will often aquience to any of thier demands.

Defences

The City maintains a strong militia for it's size as it is expected to support any western military activities. The King recruiters often come through offering coin for any willing to sign on for a tour. When not on a campaign, the militia is uded to suplement the city guard.
Even though the guard is everpresent they often turn there eye to minor offences. Between the frontiermen and the men of the Mining Guild many of the "average" citizens of Tinkerton are experienced in violence and letting them blow off steam helps keep them in line.

Industry & Trade

The Macaw Expanse is a source of precious Metals. Gold and Silver mines dot the northwest area of the expanse. In addition there is a large Diamond mine. This along with the lumber of trees that can only be found in similar regions ensure the citie's full coffers. Rare plants, herbs, and silk can also be found in the Expanse and supply most of Emic for these types of goods. Tinkerton, is the gateway for the trade of all of these items.

Guilds and Factions

The most powerful guilds is the Macaw Mining Guild. It i so poweful it can shift city policy and laws. There are several smaller merchant guilds which manage the production of finished good from the raw resources that are taken from the expanse. The Enloquicedo Guild also had a prsence in the city.
