Silver
The Enlightened Few are both the ruling body of Pluthem as well as its most accomplished and established guild of mages. It comes as little surprise, then, that its members occupy positions of power and as such garner attention, both positive and negative.
The guildmaster herself, Zakiyah Farek, is frequently the target of espionage and even assassination attempts. Due to this, she has personally picked and trained herself a bodyguard, a man of near mythical ability that is known to the general populace only as Silver.
His father, Ishmail, was a man of deep faith, but not towards the Progenitor of the Church of Resounding Truth. He was a devout follower of the Lucid Path, believing that the Varlem Desert just outside the walls of Pluthem was an expression of the divine.
As with so many other Pluthemian children before him, Aziz had to bid his father goodbye when it came time for his Returning. His father never came back from the desert, leaving his mother to grieve with him.
During his fifteenth birthday, which were held at the Entertainment Emporium, Aziz bore witness to a brutal attack on one of the mages of the Enlightened Few. It was his first experience with the local politics and, needless to say, left quite an impression on the young man.
His grandfather assured him that there was nothing to fear, and to dissuade his worries further, commissioned a pair of sabers for him from the finest blacksmith in Pluthem. With these, Aziz practiced daily under the tutelage of the warrior scholars of the House of Learning, who offered their knowledge free of charge to those who showed aptitude.
It was unto one of these training sessions that Zakiyah Farek, the current guildmaster of the Enlightened Few, happened upon. Impressed by the skills of young Aziz, she invited him for tea. During this meeting Aziz was hired as Zakiyah's personal bodyguard.
Even the slightest rolling of eyes or other microexpression that could be construed to be a sign of someone projecting does not escape Silver's notice and, depending on his mistresses instruction, this is enough for him to separate the offending head from its shoulders.
Beside his sabers, Silver is equipped with various tonics and salves meant to treat wounds. These are mere precautions for such an unthinkable event that he would fail in his duty to protect Zakiyah from harm and would need to administer first aid. These items and more are affixed to bandoliers which he has fastened over his white garb.
Silver wears only protective leather pads and bracers in addition to this garb to maintain maximum mobility, as he believes the best armor is not getting hit in the first place. So far, he has not been let down by this ethos.
Aziz does not resent Zakiyah for this. After all, she is only being honest about the relationship between employer and employee, perhaps one of very few that are.

Silver, whose real name is Aziz Ephram, was born to his father Ishmail Ephram and mother Safina Ebeid on the 3rd day of Fifth Rotation, 83 RE. His fathers side of the family came from wealth as his grandfather, Ekram Ephram, is the proprietor of Ekram Ephram's Entertainment Emporium. Silver is a stupendously talented swordsman, wielding two blades with grace and fluidity that most others would struggle to demonstrate with just one. Name
Aziz did not choose the moniker of Silver himself. It was Zakiyah's way of establishing ground rules for the young swordsman.I am your master, you are the servant. I will be first, you will always be second. Thus, Silver shall be your name.
