Sparkhaven

Deep in the depths of Vulgnor's Range at the edge of the Undersea stands the Gnomish Deep Republic town of Sparkhaven. This underground outpost has been built beyond the walls of Barak-Dur on the edge of the dangerous dark waters.

Deephome Institute Expeditions

The Gnomes use the town to launch their expeditions into the underground sea. Dry-docks house strange pressurized metal ships that can survive the crushing pressure of the Undersea. Some of the Gnomes use special pressure suits to dive into the waters or use magic that allows them breathe for a time.
The Deephome Institute keeps an outpost in the town where Gnomish inventors and artificers plan expeditions into the Undersea. They have both technological equipement in the form of diver suits, magical spells and items to allow brave explorers to survive the deep crushing depths.

Subnautica Docks

Simple wooden docks extend out onto the water and ramps have been built to allow ships to be lowered into the water. Defensive towers have been build that fire harpoons and spears into the water as well as a metal net that can be electrified.
There are no simple sailing ships moored to the docks on the surface but rather the long riveted metal tubes and strange vehicles shaped like marine animals that line the docks. The Gnomes use these to launch extended expeditions into the depths of the Undersea and can have weapons onboard to fend off the Sharkfolk tribes. Some of them even have airlocks to allow divers into the water.

The Sharkfolk Raids

The town has a lot of issues with raids from tribes of strange fish like creatures called Kuo-Toa and Sahuagin. They call these various underwater tribes the Sharkfolk for their resemblance to the underwater hunters of the sea.
Even ghosts and other undead from former explorers emerge from the depths. Some say strange mutated creatures live in deepest parts of the Undersea.

The Sleeping Titan

Strange tidal activity exists on the waters. It doesn't run in sync with the tides on the surface and legend has it that the tides follow the breathing of the Sleeping Titan. A mysterious force said to hide in the deepest reaches of the Undersea.
