Souls Campaign Session 15
General Summary
Session 15: 23-01-2026
The party starts watching the town Loomlurch from above. Chiki uses the looking glass and sees a wooden town with black slated roofs which has been fortified with a rough palisade. He sees patrols on the walls and guards in front of the gates.
Suddenly the side of the hull gets shot through by a hail of bullets. Ozzy drops the spell shrouding the airship in fog and they see a flying machine with large wings beating like a moth. It fires again on the airship punching holes in the machine. Ghost and Saruske teleport onto the vessel and it goes into barrel roll trying to shake them off. Saruske starts punching the cockpick window to get to the pilot inside. Ozzy jumps on the gun and starts firing on the craft and does some damage. Saruske punches through the glass and crawls inside to grab the pilot but the gunner pulls the emergency eject level and they get launched into the sky.
Ghost casts a spell on the flying machine to make it float slowly down to the ground. They throw their weapons at the parachute of the gunner and make him fall to his death. The pilot still being grasped by the monkey man shits himself while he gets laughed at. They float safely to the ground.
They interrogate the gnome Jorxim Fuzzybells and try to convert him to the cause although they're skeptical that its possible. He tells them the Hunt Commander Kurt Witchbane is hiding out in the central structure surrounded by his soldiers. They cleared out most of the villagers and killed the magical creatures. They captured the hag Skabatha and locked her in a cage suspended from the roof of the hags cottage. There are rebels by the name of Knights of the True Queen who are hiding out in the forest led by someone called Will of the Feywild. He also saw a pinkish creature fly out of the portal a few days ago.
Loading the ornithopter onto the cargo hook of the airship and with Chiki building a makeshift prison for Jorxim they set off to the east. Saruske sees a clearing in the distance with a circle of large mushrooms. Waiting there for a while they meet with a pixie called Kerry, dressed in leather armor with a small sword made from a needle and a button. He used to be part of the Knights but doesn't believe in them anymore and is happy that the hag has been imprisoned. He informs them that if they wait a few hours one of the knights should come through here on patrol.
After a couple of hours some knights teleport into the circle. They appear to be children dressed in wooden armor wielding wooden shields and swords. Ghost asks after the password for the fairy rings and the knight accidentally says the word to make them teleport back to the knights camp.
They see the familiar figure of Sir Talavar who is training some of the kids to fight with their wooden swords. The party tells them it's a bad idea and during the discussion Talavar gets knocked out by a rock thrown by a kid called Will. Ozzy throws the unconscious Talavar over his shoulder and takes him away before he can do more damage. Will tells them he thinks fighting is a bad idea and they should go back to stealing and sabotage like they did against the hag. Telling them it's easy to sneak into the camp and steal. There are people locked up in the basement and he thinks thats where the hag's cauldron is.
Ghost investigates the fair circles with one of the kids to memorize all the jumps points and gets all the teleportation passwords.
They set Sir Talavar off with a new mission to collect duke dookies to present to Titania in the Summer Court. While they come up with a heist plan to capture Skabatha's cauldron by creating a distraction and sneaking into the basement to steal the cauldron.
Chiki builds a makeshift cockpit for the ornithopter and flies to Loomlurch while he tied Jorxhim to the gunner controls. He sees that one of the guards starts signalling him to land on a small clearing made for the craft. Saruske teleports to the clearing near the town and runs to the palisade, scales it and throws off one of the guards. He throws a torch in a pile of hay next to a building and starts screaming and pounding his chest. Meanwhile Ghost and Ozzy teleport into the town and infiltrate the building by flying into one of the chimneys. They make it through the ventilation shutter in a stove but a man starts attacking Ghost with a broom thinking he's a stray bird while Ozzy in spider form sneaks through the room into the hallway.
Ozzy make it down into the cellar and sees an old lady locked in a cage. He speaks with her and she is looking for her arcane focus to be able to casts spells to save herself. Finding the cauldron he turns back into himself and back into a spider to get it out of the room. Ghost gets noticed by a pair of guards and he rushes through the hallway collects spider Ozzy and thundersteps out through the window and flies off.
Chiki lands the ornithopter and convinces the guard to go check out the disturbance in the camp. He runs off and he helps himself to the ammunition and the bombs in the supply cart. Taking off he flies to the nearby teleportation circle and picks up Ozzy and Ghost along the way.
They escape and Ozzy sees the old lady climb out of the window and shapeshift into a man. Back at the rendezvous point they identify the cauldron as Skabatha's Iron Cauldron
