Frontier Session 40
General Summary
Session 40: 21-03-2026
They start in the Imperial Palace and speak with the Emperor about a nearby teleportation circle. During the day they head into town to buy supplies and items for an expedition to the floating city over the desert. Suicu copies the rune for the Temple of the Lost Gods into his book. Jock heads into town to find some interesting magical items while Glee heads back to his workshops in the Sky Fortress.
During the night each of them experience a strange dream. Jock and Glee are both transported into a world with fantastical beasts shaped like a donut where they can freely explore the land and even fly around. They don't seem to get bothered by anything but do have the feeling that something is watching them. Suicu gets transported into a palace made from ice and a voice speaks to him from an area of absolute darkness. It asks him why he is siphoning its power and warns him about trusting the Archmages because they are each driven by their lust for power.
In the morning they compare their experiences and suspect it has something to do with their newly acquired abilities.
The teleportation circle is drawn and they open a portal into a long abandoned chamber with a circle. They head outside and see they're on a floating platform with a tower with a massive city floating nearby. Heading around they find a staircase leading down into the depths of the structure where a brass machine is humming with power. It has a control panel for adjusting its power intake and controls for raising and lowering the platform. Upstairs they discover a pedestal with a glass box similar to the entrance area at the Crystal Palace but its empty.
Glee experiments with the controls while Jock and Suicu go explore some of the other floating platforms. Discovering that they have a similar machine but the teleportation circle was destroyed by some magic. The platform lowers to city level and a bridge extends to allow the party to travel into the city.
In the city they find some of the Necromechs they saw under the volcano of Lor although these ones do not have a dead body powering them. They find some strange magically powered cores inside of them and a charging station nearby. Glee experiments with these cores and finds that they can charged and he disassembles a display panel.
Suicu sends out an arcane eye to explore the city and sees the powerlines lead to a central structure. They set out through the city and find ancient airship docks as well as many abandoned houses. When they get close to the entrance of the large structure they see a flash of green translucent creatures and these ghostly figures float through the walls hissing while reaching with translucent green claws.
