Ostoria

Ostoria is a city located in the northern provinces of the Empire of Dercia 
It's unknown when the city was founded, but it's known that the city was originally a small settlement founded by deserters from the armies of defeated city-states during their wars against Pearlhal. Whether it was by design or purely by chance, the location of the city turned out to be a strategically important location as the city came to control the trade of the nearby region.
Due to constant advances of the armies from Pearlhal, the armies of Pearlhal soon stood outside the gates to Ostoria, demanding the cities surrender, but due to the history of the city and who founded it, the citizens refused and a siege was laid around the city, lasting for just over a month until legionaries of the 4th legion stormed the walls and took the city. During the city, its unknown wheter it was a legionary during their plunder of the city, or it was some of the citizens who deliberatly did it, or it could have been an accident, an open flame left unattended due to the pillage going on, but at some point during the afternoon, a fire broke out in a district of the city and the fire spread before it was discovered and anything could be organised to fight against it.
Fire lasted two days, and on the third, it was mostly only the city walls that stood relatively undamaged compared to the rest of the city.
Following the siege and following battle, the citizens of Ostoria was taken away, but due to the location of the city and its control over local trade, Pearlhal could not just let nature reclaim the land, so several veterans and wounded was settled in the city which the legion spend a few months rebuilding into a livable state. Following the repopulation of the city, the new settlers married into the local population, and the population quickly became a mixture of settlers from Pearlhal and locals.
Today, the city has nearly doubled in size and still control large parts of the local trade in the provinces
