The love language of the Crienia works on three main pillars, and philosophers talk about how love rests on these three virtues. Those phiosophers that teach this are generally known as Illasea, believed to be an ancient word from the elves that mixed with humans to form the Crienia, meaning "Together" or "as one" no one is quite sure about the orginal meaning anymore.
Fides, the philophers belive that trust is to be considered the foundation of every relationship and that without trust, the affection in the relationship fades, marriages start to fail, and families break apart.
The second pillar is believed to be Constantia, being steadfast with one's partner, and that the ideal partner remains dependable regardless of the circumstances, like the wife taking care of the home while the husband is at war, or that the children take care of their parents when they get older.
And the third pillar, Officium, the shared duty, Crienia marriage is not just viewed as a partnership, not merely romantic; two people become responsible for not only each other, but also their children, their household, the family name, something the Crienia puts much value into. These tasks are not viewed as a burden but seen as an honour.
With the huge importance of the military in the Crienia society and the Empire of Dercia they have built, love for a soldier is important; they need to know that they have someone at home waiting for them, and they will generally send plenty of letters back and forth whenever the opportunity is there. Many legionaries carry a ribbon or something from them under their armour, to help remind them what they fight for.

Courtship

For a Crienia, the courtship between two people can be seen as rather practical rather than emotional, not to say that emotions don't matter, it's just that the Crienia value more practical things, such as.

• Escorting someone home from one of the many festivals
• helping with repairs to their family's home
• helping to care for their elderly relatives

A well-known joke among both the Crienia and the Sahrazari is that a Sahrazari will give you countless beautiful words before marriage, a Crienia, instead, gives you a roof that will last 50 years
to which a Sahrazari will reply, that perhaps the perfect home needs both the roof and someone to remind their partner to look at the sunset.
