Shibandoa

Shibandoa is a large but poor country south from Kandala .

17   Shibandian weddings are very extravagant events, even poor families will spend months in preparation, storing way food and gathering pressious fabrics for the brides gown and decorations. Pettles are used liberally to decorate everything, from the wedding hall to the brides hair.
Public use of magic:
Most magic is allowed. but highly monitored, the only exception to this being healing magic which is used so widely and so regularly that it is impossible to reguate. Necromancers use this to their advantage in covering up their work, necromancy is the only illegal form of magic.

Accessibility to education:
School is free and mandatory to all children aged 5 to 15. There is a lot of pressure put on young students from poorer families in hopes that their education can earn them a better life.  
Level of public literacy:
Most of the general public is literate due to the mandatory schooling.  
Crime:
Crime is previlent in Shibandora, mostly this is due to the widespread poverty of the country, many will end up involved in criminal gangs to earn enough money to suport their families. OThers simply steal food and otheer nicessities from the marketplace in order to servive. The police are bruital and curupt, they will beat someone caught stealing to feed her children, but will happily take a bribe and look the other way when something such as human trafficing is involved.  
Human trafficking:
Human trafficing is very common in Shibandora, many of which are women and children escaping from Kandala , who were falsely promissed a better life acrross the border.    
Drug trade:
Drug dealers are a part of everyday here, many people use recreational drugs to help them get through the pain of starvation and give them energy to keep going with their work. Most dealers will offer drugs in exchange for favours or some other trade, making drugs easier for the poorest people to obtain than food. Shibandoa also supply sourunding countries with their drugs, making it a lucrative business for gangs.  
Necromancy:
One gang in particular specialise in necromancy magic, this group is so secretive many belive them to be just a rumar used to explain the body that go missing from the streets, but those with ties in underworld know all too well how real they are. Most gangs will avoid confrontation with them, their undead members are numerous and hard to fight against. They will also murder enemy gang members to make their own.   Their symbol is the Nightmare.    

Architecture:

Poor:
The poorest members of Shibandoa live in single room houses made of stone and mud, they are very close together with no gaurden, so any family with chickens or other livestock have to keep them inside with them. There are many twisting alleyways around the houses which are easy to get lost in.  
Middle class:
Middle class houses are much more spacious and well built, they often have second floors as well as basements. Gangs involved in human trafficking own many of these houses, where they pass their slaves off as family members.  
Nobles:
The nobles live in seperate areas from the poor and middle class, they have mannor houses and spend most of their time in the rooms made for lesure activities such as the tea rooms, ball rooms, banquet halls and game rooms. The mannors are sturdy and most often made of solid stone. within rich areas there is usually a large quarters where all of the neighbourhoods staff live.

The king has a large palace surrounded by tall white stone walls.

Economy:

The country has a very poor economy, many of the nobles relliy on their outside trade to give them their lucturies.  
Farming:
The outskirts of the towns are lined with farms and fields, the farmers hier the poor residents to do their hard labour in exchange for small amounts of food and sometimes a place to stay, many homeless people will live in barns with the animals and wake up early each day to take care of them in exchange.  
Export/Import:
The countries main exports are materials such as stone and low grade ore and herbs used in healing magic.  
Trade:
Outside traders avoid this country like the pleuge, caravans are often robbed with it's borders so for the most part the only traders are from within, supplying outside resources to their own people.  
Medicine:
Healing magic is widely used in Shibandoa, many people pass the knowledge down through their family, so being a magical doctor isn't very profitable.  
Transportation and Communication:
People tend to stay within their area of residence, but workers, traders, nobles and those that venture out on horseback or carrages. Many nobles also own magical beasts which they travel around on as a symbol of status.

Most of Shibandoa is heavily over populated, the hustle and bustle of the streets can be disorienting to outsiders.
