Gyath knows a lot about old texts and military techniques. He was one of the few peasants who had learned how to read as he was self-taught and managed to scavenge enough food that he wasn't so malnourished, because off this he was made a squadron leader and record keeper during the war and still possesses some of the logs written during the war with the elves.
He's somewhat of a grouch, having a stone wall built erected around his home to keep "The drunken riff-raff" from the next door tavern off of his property. He is very apprehensive towards the elves, despite finding their history intruiging.
