This kwentari is a hard-shelled fruit unlike anything I have ever seen on Breharan. It can only be found under the sands of the Gentari and only for a specific period of time after an uncommon rain. After that time, the plant has drawn the liquid from the fruit for its own sustenance.
They say not to pick too many in any area of the plant will wither before the next rain. There is no agriculture on the scale we have back on Breharan so caring for the land is incredibly important. The vast knowledge that each member of the Rakrantra clan holds is incredible.— Darosi, Journal No.1
Beneath the Scalding Sands

Kestatol there is a large desert called
Gentari, known to outsiders as the Lostscale Desert. There are many things that live in this environment, some birds pass through seasonally, a few small mammals make their home here, repitles bathe in the heat of the sands, but the plants are hardy and small.
None of the plants in the desert bear fruit, save the sandfruit which grows under the sand. In order to preserve its own moisture, it keeps out of the light, the heat, and the wind by growing between forty and seventy centimeters below the surface.

In a Name
The name of the sandfruit is actually kwentari. The word sandfruit is the name given to it by people from
Breharan.
Kwentari actually doesn't translate to sandfruit, in its original language it means hidden in sand. There are many things that can be hidden in sand but the fruit is indicated by a rising intonation at the end of the word.
