Ruby Cradle

A land formed by the rivers of 5 springs that wind their ways to the ocean or the lakes of the Veilmist Basin.

The centre of the region has been scarred by the Ruby Tear, which caused the rivers to turn into shades of red. The tear’s influence changed the regional flora and fauna mostly close to the tear. Especially the aquatic life all over the Riverlands has become different, with new species of fish entering the eco system as well as changes in size, behaviour, colour and tastiness of existing creatures.

The Ruby Cradle is known for their extraordinary fish, delicious Fruits and Vegetable as well as being the only region with forests of Jelly Wood, a bamboo like, red tree that is extremely flexible and finds many uses in the making of tools, weapons and for building.

The weather is often wet with heavy rains and/or thunderstorms, causing the rivers to rise immensely.

Most settlements in the region are small to medium sized, either build on stilts or by making embankments, housing mostly one of the prominent races of the region. Only a few settlements are multiracial. The biggest known settlement is “The Garnet Grove”, a sacred place of nature which is inhabited by a society of Druids.

 

Most settlements are specialized on fishing and/or farming.

Geography

The riverlands of the Ruby Cradle are defined by 5 main and many smaller rivers and brooks winding their ways all across the region. The solid land consist mostly of plains, shallow hills and meadows

The area is known for their frequent and long episodes of rainfall which makes the overall climate humid with mild temperatures nearly all year long. Winters are short.
