Emerald Expanse

At first sight from afar you might thing it to be a lush grassland. Little did you know that all the sand in this Desert is emerald green. The days are dry and hot; the nights are freezing cold. Only scarce vegetation and few animals can be found here. Water is scarce. The Emerald Tear ripped through the Desert, forming a breathtaking sculpture of Green Glass reaching to the sky. This Glass is of high value to artisans, smiths and engineers and worth the risk of traversing the region, fighting for just a sliver of this glass is worth fighting wars over. Sometimes Sandstorms unearth ancient ruins of an old civilization living here before the Tear.

A few settlements can be found around the area, mostly outposts of kingdoms near and far to secure acquisition, lots of caravans come and go in this area, some free caravans move between the outposts.
