AA 426 Travel Guide

KarenthCentralis by Scott Weeks
"Hi Folks, and lookee here. Welcome to my AA 426 Travel Guide just for you. That's right, I'm your host, Devin De-a-taw, with this first travel guide for Karenth Centralis, Continent of."
"For those of you new to Karenth, I welcome you to the recently reoccupied lands once home to the numerous and now extinct Netheen. They left magic untold and not at all understood along with writings we still can't translate. The land is lush with opportunity to explore their ruins, good soils to farm, plenty of forests, mountains, and unfortunately all of the monstrous creations left behind by the Aspects."
"We are going to start off in the capital city of the continent, if you can really say that, the city of Grayton's Lot. Right here in the northeast of the continent is the magnificent, and largest, port city in The Known World. It is home to Grayton's Tower and its inhabitants, along with the simply named Mage's Guild and magic school. In addition, Grayton's Lot is the largest port in the world, currently able to hold 3 large ships in the port!"
"While here, you absolutely must visit my favorite place for food and to socialize, the Golden Cloak. Travelers and merchants from all over can come for rest and sustenance in this massive, newly rebuilt, four story building. In addition, you can also find a number of other inns and taverns, shops, booths, and traders throughout the city. But, watch out for the Thieves Guild of Grayton's Lot. The city does little to curtail their dealings beyond preventing the spreading of their presence."
"To the southeast of Grayton's Lot, along the primary road is the crossroad's town of Ironholm, a major stop for caravans going in all directions. It's a great place to replenish supplies and water, and they also produce iron for all you weaponsmiths and blacksmiths out there. I think Ironholm hides a big secret though, there are always numerous adventurers of all types hanging around. While there, don't forget to stop for a pint and listen to music at Solivin's Respite and Fare."
"But let's move on. To the northeast of Ironholm is ramshackle podunk shack town of Claven's Rift. It's not a very nice place, right on the sea and the desert. They do, however, brew a very nice ale."
"Far to the east and south of Ironholm is adventurer's haven of Elenoran. It's a massive ruined city of the ancient Netheen peoples. Once a major port of theirs, as we can tell of what's left of the stone structures near the sea, a small portion of the city had been reclaimed by a large population of elves who have rebuilt a temple to the Aspect of Light Tilinay Ailistan, one of the original members of the Displaced. The town has plenty of places to explore, treasure to be found, and monsters, are, well, plentiful in the ruined area."
"To the south along the trade road is the small city of Teberent, a farming community along the sea. I've never made it there, so nothing else to say."
"Far west of Ironholm, along the western trade road, and just at the edge of the desert is the aptly named Oasis on the Edge. The buildings are made of massive stone blocks quarried from the nearby cliffs of granite. It's the last town to replenish supplies if you are heading further west or south. You can get fabric made from the violent Oasis Vines here. The fabric is comfortable, warm, waterproof, and best of all fireproof. I wish you could see the long coat I'm wearing right now made of oasis vine fabric. Try not to be there when the vines decide to grow. It's not a pretty picture!"
"But you know what is? The bustling city of Morenstople. Sitting at the base of a large sandstone spire, the beautifully restored city is full of life and trade goods. Parts of the city have been reclaimed from the nearby sands, and there is plenty of farmland nearby. Magic users of all kinds have begun to find there way to the city as there is a high quality glass making industry in the city. You probably don't want to cross over the inlet to the Old Sea where the city of Carensenth can be seen a few miles away from Morenstople. Carensenth is the opposite of Morenstople. Wow, that's a mouthful! Carensenth is full of poverty, and laborers for Morestople are often pulled from this lower class refuge."
"Far to the west of Oasis on the Edge is the last of the major cities, North Ballia. It's a city full of halflings, stone giants, and sheep. So many sheep. And they stink. But if you want a ship, you won't find a better one than those made by the giants with the designs from the halflings. They are truly the best. Grayton's Lot buys a couple a year, and private merchants also come here."
"And thank you for letting me have your ear for a few minutes for this brief tour of the continent."
