Home to the Meddling Misfits

Nothing is ever finished, forever being added to as purposes and needs change. This is even more true of places that serve as home to bands of misfits, each person adding their own mark on the place, bringing new buildings, rooms, equipment, and much more to the place to make it something, make it home. Over days, months, years, the footprint changes, things added and taken away as the people come and go.   Guild halls are especially susceptible to this, with dozens of people making their mark. Many of these places began as one thing but became something else as ownership changed hands. One such building and the land surrounding it has become just that; once a manor to some wealthy family, the building became home to a band of misfits, one so surprising that they are rarely recognized as the Adventurers they are.   Misfit Manor is aptly named, created through the vision of Adventurers turned guild members turned found family. Over the miles and months of their travels, they were brought here to find the last wishes of a crazy man with a dungeon in his well and to make that decrepit place into a home that most of them had been missing. From laboratories to infirmaries, forges and wine cellars, Misfit Manor became the place they all needed, each addition made as the family grew.

Purpose / Function

Misfit Manor is a multi-purpose building, and along with the grounds surrounding it, serves as the guild hall for the Meddling Misfits, a registered adventuring group of the Dagger Guild. Used as a base of operations, a home, training grounds, and workshops, Misfit Manor continues to grow as more members join the group and continue adding to its various floors and grounds to create a space that can easily accommodate whatever the members may need.

History

Before it was a guild hall, the area now known as Misfit Manor was once the home of a wealthy merchant in the Human Empire. The gentleman, whose name has been lost, was a collector of interesting relics and things, as well as a known eccentric. Over his lifetime, he acquired a number of artifacts that were protected in the halls of a trapped dungeon hidden at the bottom of the well.   Upon the man's passing, the deed to the property was left in the dungeon, a prize for anyone willing to surpass the traps and anything else that was hiding there. This information was lost to the ages, but was brought back to the forefront when a portion of the Meddling Misfits arrived at the grounds for a wholly unrelated search.   Contracted by a group of Scholars from the Starlit Academy, the Meddling Misfits were to provide security for the Scholars as they searched for one of the artifacts supposedly left by the previous owner. As Adventurers do, the Misfits found themselves in circumstances far outside expectations, and after surviving, with the deed to the property.   Once ownership of the area was legitimized, the Meddling Misfits began rebuilding and turning the area into something that was usable to them. Greenhouses, training grounds, temples, and fields were slowly added to the grounds while various libraries, laboratories, infirmaries, and other necessities were added inside.

The Meddling Misfits is an adventuring group of the Dagger Guild established in 301 EA by a handful of friends that had first met in the Elven Forest.
