Stylizing
Crafting any clothing or the like requires the Stylist skill which is as follows :
Stylizing - Mind (1)
Stylist doubles as making the characters proficient in disguising themselves, as while Stylists are proficient tailors, they also train themselves in the application of makeup and accessories. This allows a character with a high rank in Stylist to more seamlessly fit in with a certain group or an intended look, albeit, only in terms of appearance. Additionally, a Stylist can disguise other people, such as their allies, however, it is less effective, as you know how to disguise yourself better than others.
Rank Benefits
At rank 1 the Stylist can craft light armor out of leather for use against smalls arms, for more information on armor see the Mechanics page.
At rank 5 can weave light armor in-between a set of thicker clothing to create hidden armor. This makes it nearly indiscernible that the character is wearing armor, while still benefiting from it.
At rank 10 a Stylist is skilled enough in makeup and disguises that they can disguise themselves as a different person of the same race, at rank 20, they can also make themselves appear as if they are a different race.
At rank 15 The Stylist can craft light armor using fur and leather from Sarwix and Desert Demons, as such the light armor is equivalent to those worn by the warriors of the desert.
Crafting
Cotton & Leather (can use with 1 rank in Stylist)
Linen (can use with 3 ranks in Stylist)
Silk (can use with 10 ranks in Stylist)
Monster Fur\Leather (can use with 15 ranks in Stylist)
Materials
Each Unit of a material is enough for a full set of clothes. Additionally, crafting clothing always takes 1 hour, however, a Stylist may only craft 4 sets of clothes a day.
Leather can be found effectively anywhere, as most villages have at least a few hunters, allowing for acquisition of a unit of Leather for as cheap as 10 Dreons.
Cotton and Linen can be acquired at any town or city, each Unit of cotton costs 25 Dreons, each Unit of linen costs 75 Dreons.
Silk can only be acquired within Stisedan cities, each Unit of Silk costs 400 Dreons.
Sarwix Fur\Leather can be bought at certain cities, but only infrequently due to the rarity of most Sarwix, if they are being sold, a unit of leather will often run for 1000 dreons. There is also Desert Demons, however they are exclusively hunted by the people of the Desert (specifically Makos Warriors mostly) and given that the people of Desert do not use Dreons, obtaining the material may be a challenge in of itself.
Selling Clothing
The default value of clothes crafted is as follows :
Leather - 50
Cotton - 200
Linen - 450
Silk - 1200
However there are several factors that can increase (or decrease) the value of clothing. To start, every rank in Stylizing increases the quality and thus, the value of the crafted clothing.
Every 5 ranks increases the value of all clothes by 10%
Additionally, how you sell the clothes impacts the value, for example the easiest solution would be to sell them to a clothing shop, shops will take any and all clothes but they will only pay the Stylist 30% of their value.
Lastly, a Stylist can sell their clothes themselves, and the area they sell their clothes will alter the perception of various customers, with only three viable options : a store, a stall, or none.
If the stylist has no real preparation or can't get an official spot to sell their clothes, best they can do is lay out a rug or thick piece of cloth and place their clothes upon it, which would certainly cause most potential customers to view the clothes as low quality. A stall would take time to prepare but offer a better perception of the clothing comparatively. And as one could expect, a store gives the best perception of the Stylist's wares, often giving the customer the perception that the clothes are tried and true quality product (especially if the Stylist is skilled enough).
However, it is important to know that sales are not guaranteed when the Stylist sells clothes themselves, it could take days or weeks to sell their clothes, and most stalls and stores will have a rent attached if used temporarily. While selling clothes to an existing store massively decreases the Dreons gained, it provides a way to offload an excess stock of clothes the Stylist wishes to sell, with Cotton clothing benefitting the most from this due to the low material cost.
The modifier for each option is as follows :
(modifier is calculated after the value increase from ranks)
None - 50% Reduction
Stall - 20% Increase
Store - 100% Increase
