During the ensuing year, Gollon and Adolphus performed many experiments on Clix against its will. One of the most consequential was the Chaos Attunement. Unknown to it at the time, CLix was being prepared to be a body host for the soul of the aging Artificer. In order to make the construct amenable to its new host, Gollon permanently imbued CLix with Chaos Magic, a dangerous path for this working. This would prove to be a fateful decision for the Artificer. While his body died during the transfer, as was planned, the procedure didn’t yield the expected results at all. While Gollon’s spirit was detectable by his Wizard in the body of CLix, his personality and Will seemed to be nearly absent, and CLix was still entirely present. While attempting to understand and tweak the Chaos Magic inside CLix and bring his friend’s consciousness forth, there was an uncontrolled, chaotic reaction. CLix managed to escape on foot and hide at the bottom of a nearby lake in the ensuing fire for a week.
