Nissan Junebug
The Nissan Junebug is a small five-door hatchback produced by the formerly Japanese car manufacturer Nissan, introduced for the 2682 model year. Styled as a city-focused car with a slightly raised stance, the Junebug is known for its smooth, rounded body shape, two-tone paint with a black roof, and a full-width front light strip paired with narrow headlights. The model is commonly shown in a bright teal-green metallic finish with dark lower trim and large multi-spoke wheels.
Nissan positioned the Junebug as an everyday urban car aimed at efficiency, quiet operation, and easy use in dense cities, while keeping the compact size and short rear overhang typical of modern hatchbacks. Early advertising emphasized its clean front “mask” design, minimal grille openings, and a cabin layout built around high visibility and simple controls.
The name “Junebug” refers to the beetle commonly called a June bug, chosen to suggest a small, tough, and quick-moving vehicle associated with warm-season travel and city nightlife.
