Thunderjade

Known Region

One location known for having Thunderjade is the Stormback Range, a place usually known for its Thunder Griffins and for its constant thunderstorms that ravage the area. The next place known for harboring clusters are the Skyfall Plateaus, large elevated mesas that reach beyond the clouds. If you seek a more volatile and powerful Thunderjade, the Tempest Coast has those there. You are able to find ones that form a deeper yellow with potential for blue lightning cracks throughout.

These ones are very unstable and should be treated with care.

Properties

The innate properties of this mineral is generally a conduit for Lightning Magicks. As where it forms is often a volatile and dangerous place, Thunder jade is also a volatile and dangerous ingredient if you aren't careful. It also makes wonderful ink for spell scrolls.

..As An Alchemy Ingredient

Thunderjade works well in potions that enhance ones ability to control and manipulate lightning. On the other side of that coin, it is also used to create potions that nullify some of the damage that lightning can cause. Potions of haste also use Thunderjade as a conduit for speed and the ability to cast spells faster.

Gathering and Preparation Instructions

The easiest way to gather Thunderjade is usually after a thunderstorm has passed, when it has had a chance to calm down and store the energy it obtained during the storm. Then once gathered, stand in a grounding circle that's inscribed into the floor or earth beneath you. Ideally, do not wear shoes. Begin grinding the stone into a fine powder. Fill small vials with the powder. Make sure to put enough powder for various potions and label accordingly.

Thunderjade over use can result in the user accidentally discharging a spell while emotionally overwhelmed at worst and increasing static build up at best.
