World Ember 2025

World Ember is always a difficult time of the year for me. Balancing a full time job, game dev/software dev projects and social events. This year in particular as I've also recently moved home, town and job all in one go. I managed to carve out three and a half days of time to dedicate to writing and I'm extremely happy with what I've managed to achieve in that very short timespan. I managed to meet my 10k word goal and in the process of doing so, I have created many more ideas for Summer Camp 2026!
My Personal Picks
I stepped out of my comfort zone of short, information and exposition filled articles and opted this year to devote most of my World Ember time. Only have completed one longer form prose (Yrla'Ven from the Summer Camp earlier this year) which was roughly two thousand words total. Although my new story would still count as a short story, it's coherent and a full seven thousand words long. I specifically tried to focus on character development, overlapping of themes, foreshadowing and pacing throughout. I'm desperately in need of some critical feedback on these kind of stories. I would love to develop my abilities further!
