Dispel Magic

Dispel Magic is a mixed arcane-divine spell that can be used by most spellcasters of sufficient strength, that allows the user to unravel a targeted spell or magical effect. This spell is known to Makar Mesaba.

The essence of the Dispel Magic spell is fairly straightforward: connecting one's own magic to a target spell and then twisting the affected spell until it no longer serves any purposes and naturally begins to dissipate. This is easier said than done, though: while any kind of magic can be used to do this, only capable mages with a strong working understanding of magic can actually succeed in using it.

Dispel Magic can be used to target a specific spell or effect, or to target all ongoing magical effects tied to a specific object, creature, or person in 120 feet. The spell automatically breaks any targeted magic of its spell level or lower. When attempting to dispel greater effects, the caster can attempt to break the target spell using their own spellcasting ability.

Dispel Magic is a common tool of magical institutions, from druidic temples to wizarding academies, as well as magically-competent governments. It is often used to disrupt Curse Magic and other dark arts used against political elites, and is treated as a kind of anti-magical panacea in less magically-rich lands.
