Summer Camp 2026
Summer Camp Prep
Week 1 : Love
Pledge
Hopscotch
I rolled a 2 and choose to review timelines and maps. Most of them are right where i want them but I also wanted to create one for the whole known world. This map will be used by players to locate far away regions and might help me create stuff out of the main kingdom.
The base image is still a placeholder and might change. But it will help me orient myself in the world. I've filled it with pin from every location not in the main Kingdom of Manimus .
I might also create a map of Tezera, the capital of the main Kingdom, as players will spend a decent amount of time there.
Warm-up
Write a Settlement that's associated with love.
I initially thought the prompt was to create a Settlement focused on love and that gave me great ideas I might use in the future.
To answer this prompt, I created Orio. This settlement was created by adapting the classic tale of the cursed lovers, especially The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. Just like the characters in this tales are associated with the stars Altaïr and Vega, the name Orio comes from the constellation Orion.
Week 2 : Growth
Assignment
This week's assignment is to choose my area of focus for Summer Camp.
I'm gonna use mainly the Kingdom of Manimus. I plan to use this area as the main area of the game and I want it to feel lived and complete. But I won't limit myself and may look outside if the prompt is not really suited for this kingdom.
Hopscotch
I rolled a 2 again. And I've chosen the option "Make a list of concepts you'd like to explore"
- Culture and tradition : I want the world to feel alive and real. And I want to write several traditions, expressions and even food and drinks.
- Cults : Especially one for each major god. I also want to make each one feel unique
- Historical entries : For the same reasons, having a deeper history will make the world more alive
- Legends : I'd like to write multiple legends and myth, both using the Prose template and the Myth template
Warm up
Write a Geographical Location boasting different kinds of ecosystems.
I struggled a bit with this prompt and started an article about a region way too big. I focused instead on a small place, with a mystery behind and trying to adapt the environment based on this mystery. I created the Plateau d'El-Azari, a plateau where magic is still in the air, after a ritual that may have not have the intended effect.
Week 3 : Loss
Assignment
This week's assignement is to plan our writing time. I have no idea how it will take me to write a 300 word article.
Thankfully, I'm on holiday at the start of July and wont go back to work until the 20th.
After that, I plan to do some daily writing sessions. I hope 30 min to 1 hour a day will be enough.
Hopscotch
I rolled another 2. I'm choosing to go on a walk. It's one I really wanted to do this one. I do tend to get some good ideas while doing this.
I've looked a little at the weather and i'll probably take the walk next Saturday. So i'm back from my walk, and i did a one hour tour in a park near my home. I've never been there and it was great. Il gave me a few ideas too : Add parks and greenery in towns, things that children do in groupe and to think about how nature can take over ruins.
Warm up
Write a Language lost to time.
One funny thing about the world of Guellan is that it was once inhabited by all the classic DnD races (elves, human, dwarfs,...). But they all disappeared, leaving behind them the animalistic races that now live in this world. But there are still traces of them, like one of the moon which is an old elvish satellite.
So I have created an article about the elvish language, without clearly stating that it is elvish (Alavique)
Week 3 : Family
Assignment
Guellan is a world that i'm building to hopefully use as a campaign settings for a Dnd game. Or even several. I want this world to feel alive and complete.
Because I have time at the moment - Dming Carnaval beyond the Witchlight with my usual groupe - I've been working on this world on and off, when inspiration strikes. I hope Summer Camp can give me new ideas, pushing myself to write stuff I don't usually write about.
Hopscotch
And for the final hopscotch, I roll a 2. My accountability buddy is already chose : My husband. I've been talking his ear off about Summer Camp Prep and i'll probably do the same for Summer Camp. He knows how important it is for me and will give me the time and space to write.
Warm up
Write a Myth that reveals the "true" meaning of family.
That's a prompt I'm quite happy to see. I already have a god of family (Garille ) and I've wanted to have at least one Myth by god.

Best of luck with SC! Have fun :)
Summer Camp is here and so is My pledge! <3
Visit my world of Kena'an for tales of fantasy and magic! Or, if you fancy something darker, Crux Umbra awaits.
Thanks. It's my first time doing something like this. But I'm so hyped for it :)
