Morwyn Lan MASTERPOST

Morwyn Lan (Pure Maiden) is a story that takes place a few generations after Cwn y Mamau's events, this time focused on Old Nick's grandchildren and their fight to retain sovereignty in Gealas and their imperialistic desires further North. It also describes the origin story of Henbane.

A synopsis of the myth exists here: The Hallow Maiden

The story focuses on a few key points:

Story

The Northman

Silas Nemoralis arriving in Deornet with his Plague Relief Unit kicks off the story. A sin-eater who is overlooked for his outdated practices and frequently at odds with Oswald, the Earlen's son-in-law. While he often causes more problems than he solves, his unfettered streak and dark past may bring the dire nature of Deornet's sovereignty to light. Silas seems to know a bit too much about what the Kingfinches and their parent family, the Wisterwoods, get up to in the corners of the known world; and he is a little too adept with his knife.

The Naefergrene Treaty

Everyone speaks of "the treaty" between the Belfolk and the Naefergrene, but it remains a mysterious promise. Its terms forgotten over the generations, only that it keeps the double walkers and their leader, Old Nick Blackthorne.

The Blight

A blight has overtaken Deornet, with an epicentre being in the largest town of Holjowl. A blight not only causing famine, but also a mysterious infection that spreads like a plague and rots from the inside. Initially set only on freeing souls from their fleshy coffins, Silas is drawn to pursue the disappearance of Sigrid Kingfinch, who he believes was silenced for discovering the blight's true source. Will Silas' hatred for the Kingfinches overcome his wish to spare Sigrid the wrath of her family, or will he delight in watching them lose it all?
