The Seer's Eye

The Seer's Eye is a magical condition passed down through the generations of the Alizar family. It is a curse or a blessing depending on who you ask.

It has been passed down from first born to first born through sixteen generations of Alizar.

What does it do?

The curse of the Seer's Eye gives the cursed person the ability to see someone's distant future, just by looking at them. They can tell you where you will be in ten years, but not how you get there.

This can cause a lot of confusion and trouble. For example, "I fore see you will be rich, you made a wise investment." But with out knowing what the investment was the person involved made a lot of bad investments, trying to find the right one. Ending up poor instead of rich.

How it came about

The story in a nutshell, Tarigon Alizar was always judging people. One day he judged the wrong person. A wizard, who cursed him, as wizards do. Something along the lines of "See how your harsh words will effect those you criticize. The harm or good your words will do will alway be seen by you." Unfortunately the curse was a little stronger then what the wizard intended, and now every first born in the Alizar family has one glowing eye that shows them the future.

The Curse has an obvious physical effect, causing the right eye of the cursed to glow. To disguise this an eye patch is often worn.

Dispite the potential trouble people still ask for the current Seer's Eye, Zarina Alizar, to give them readings. Sometimes multiple readings, trying to keep their future on track. She lives in the Magni Settlement.

One odd occurrence was when the first born of the seventh generation died, he was still young and had no heirs to inherit the curse. Instead his younger sister, the second born, developed the condition. Her first born also had it and it was passed down to the current generation from her line.

Will the curse continue? An interesting question. As of now Zarina has no blood relative who might inherit it. How ever she does have an adopted son, it is possible that he might develop the condition after her. But if he does it won't be in the next ten years, or Zarina would have seen it.
